I absolutely love being in the kitchen. I have no idea where my passion for food and cooking came from. I guess it is likely to have something to do with being the only vegetarian in my family. It's necessitated a need to explore new foods.
I have a passion for understanding the ethnicity of food, as well as how to cook it. I love Italian food - who doesn't, but what is different to me, is a string desire to stick, as far as possible, to true Italian food. The kinds of Italian food you find the UK is barely recognisable to most Italians. I'm interested in the true, rustic, traditional foods eaten by the native people of countries around the world.
My favourite countries for food have to be India, Italy and Mexico.... not forgetting the often understated traditional British food!
